This year, we will not only spend our time learning about the history and people of the Eastern Hemisphere, we will spend first semester learning about the history of YOUR family. We will be spending time researching and interviewing about members of our own family that make up our history, our story.
You will be compiling facts and data about your family and turning it into a book (binder or scrapbook) that will be turned in during the first week of December.
I always like to begin this project by telling students that you can always do this project, even if you think that you may not have the typical, perfect family structure at home. If your parents are divorced, a parent is out of the picture, you have been adopted, a family member left, we can make this work. Your history has to start somewhere, so how about right here! Our family history molds us into the people we are, and it is not always perfect. Nobody's family is perfect! All that I ask, is that we go into this with a good attitude and do our best. This project will be one that I hope you treasure years passed seventh grade.
